“Wow! Social Tap knocked it out of the park. We had a casual back yard wedding and Social Tap Catering handled the event from top to bottom. From the food and beverage to service staff and clean up. My place was cleaner than when they arrived. Oh…and the food!!! Braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes, rosemary thyme chicken and a vodka penne pasta. If I were at a five star restaurant I would have been happy with the meal, much less my own back yard. Tray passed apps of fresh ahi poke and buffalo chicken sliders started the day off right. Social Tap also catered our bar. Not only do they have their own mobile bar, saving us from renting one, but they customized a bar program just for us. We were able to select the beer, wine and even specialty cocktail. I would highly recommend Social Tap for any event requiring catering. After my very first phone call with Brant from Social Tap I knew I found our caterer! He genuinely cared about my vision for what I wanted. “Hire them.... NOW! The attention to detail, high quality, outstanding service, and overall tastiness of Social Tap cannot be countered! Food and drinks were our number one priority for our wedding celebration. We went with four tray passed apps: buffalo chicken sliders, egg rolls, ahi tuna cones, and teriyaki chicken skewers. For dinner, we skipped the salad and served plated short rib and chicken with mashed potatoes and vegetables for the meat eaters. For the vegans, we had a ratatouille over brown rice. We received compliments all night about the delicious food and OUTSTANDING servers. They were enjoying the celebration just as much as the guests, and it created such a loving, joyful environment. Milk and cookies were displayed for dessert and several guests admitted to eating more than they should have... they were just too delicious! We even had our rehearsal dinner at their brick and mortar! The taco bar was divine, and chips with salsa/guac were on the tables for us when we arrived. They reserved the enclosed patio for us, and even with a Padres vs Dodgers game going on, we were treated like royalty. We felt heard, respected, and supported through the entire process! Brant, the owner, let us sample his most recommended items and they were ALL DELICIOUS. He was amazing during the whole planning process and outlined everything in detail so we knew exactly what to expect on the day of the wedding. His communication was excellent, he really listened to our wants and needs and delivered flawlessly. We had A LOT of compliments from our guests, most of which went back for seconds and thirds! We had our wedding at Venue 808 (which is catered by Social Tap) and I cannot rave enough about them. The entire team (Brant, Chad, Desiree, Jake, etc.) were nothing short of incredible from start to finish. They answered all our questions, helped us navigate through anything we asked, were attentive and responsive to emails/calls, and the food/drinks are AMAZING. The views at Venue 808 are absolutely insane and are matched by the incredible access to the Downtown/Gaslamp area in San Diego. We even had our after party across the street at Social Tap which was amazing for all our guests. Honestly, I plan on encouraging anyone I know in San Diego to have their wedding at Venue 808 so I can go again as a guest.
